CHTA Education Foundation Launches 2023 Caribbean Travel Auction

FORT LAUDERDALE, Florida (October 20, 2023) – The annual CHTA Education Foundation Caribbean Auction will launch on October 23 and close on October 28; “National Make a Difference Day”.

This year’s fundraiser has over US$125k in prizes from over 35 Caribbean hotels and resorts and gives auction winners spectacular Caribbean vacations ranging from luxury resorts to one-of-a-kind boutique hotels and ecolodges and proceeds change Caribbean hospitality professionals’ lives and careers.

“Hotels from across our vibrant region have stepped forward with generous contributions to our 2023 Caribbean Travel Auction, curating a splendid selection of Caribbean resorts,” remarked Karolin Troubetzkoy, the Chairwoman of the CHTAEF. “This pivotal fundraiser, augmented by our new Raffles initiative and the unwavering support of our Strategic Partners and Sponsors, fuels programs that profoundly impact the lives and careers of our Caribbean hospitality and tourism professionals.”

This fundraiser will help the CHTA Education Foundation develop and enhance programs to support the professional development at all levels of the career spectrum. Proceeds from all the Foundation’s fundraisers provide scholarships to the next generation of hospitality professionals to some of the most prestigious institutions around the globe, including Cornell University, Culinary Institute of America, Florida International University, Johnson & Wales University, Les Roches, Monroe College and University of the West Indies.

Additionally, the Foundation continues to develop programs to support the professional development of our current industry personnel. These include our on-island training courses which focus on operational and customer service training to energize and empower staff in real time. These courses have reached more than 2,00 staff in nearly a dozen islands since its inception in 2019.

The newest program, in partnership with the internationally recognized Les Roches launched last year is the Caribbean Professional Development Program. This program provides participants with the knowledge, tools, and credentials to attain General Manager positions within the next two to three years and is designed to elevate their careers without interrupting it.

For more than three decades, the annual Travel Auction has helped transform the lives and careers of Caribbean hospitality professionals, supported the most critical industry for the Caribbean region and provided beautiful escapes for the auction winners every year.
