Caribbean Supercharged Service Workshops Come to St. Croix, USVI

St. Croix, USVI (September 26, 2024) – The Caribbean Hotel & Tourism Association Education Foundation (CHTAEF), in partnership with the St. Croix Hotel & Tourism Association (STXHTA), is coming to St. Croix Oct. 7-11 to offer one of its signature Caribbean Employee Empowerment Training Programs. The Caribbean Supercharged Service workshops sold out in less than a week and will be attended by 100 hospitality professionals.

“For the first time, the CHTAEF is bringing our Caribbean Employee Empowerment Workshops to the USVI, and specifically to St. Croix, and we are thrilled to contribute to the island’s tourism growth. These workshops are designed to equip staff with valuable tools to enhance both the guest experience and their professional development, combining international standards with the warmth and authenticity of Caribbean hospitality,” said Karolin Troubetzkoy, CHTAEF Chairperson.

To be held at the Beach Meeting Room at The Buccaneer Beach & Golf Resort, these interactive workshops will engage participants each day and include fundamental action points that allow participants to immediately enhance their daily connections with others in their team and with guests for the betterment of their business and St. Croix’s hospitality reputation.

The workshops include: “Heartfelt Guest Care to Create Memorable Experiences” an energetic, focused, interactive day to assist team members in handling guests with heartfelt care, and how to shine through the challenges; “Customer Ambassadors,” which focuses on empowering staff to quickly own and resolve customer concerns and proactively build friendly team relationships; and “Effective Results-Driven Communication for Supervisors & Managers,” which outlines the core values of problem solving through sharing challenging scenarios.

“We are grateful for the regional and local collaboration efforts extended to make these workshops possible. It is our hope that this valuable training will streamline both customer and internal interactions, making each encounter positive and memorable. We look forward to seeing the skills participants will learn applied in their daily exchanges, and in turn witnessing the boost in customer service and employee relations,” said USVI Hotel & Tourism Association President Lisa Hamilton.

The week will wrap up on Oct. 11 when the participants will be joined by their general managers, STXHTA members and representatives from the USVI Department of Tourism at The Buccaneer Beach & Golf Resort. Participants will receive completion certificates and enjoy a networking reception at the Brass Parrot at The Buccaneer.

This week-long event is a truly collaborative Crucian event with primary sponsorship by STXHTA and additional support and sponsorship provided by association members. Caravelle Hotel & Casino and Company House Hotel provided sponsorship for accommodations, sponsorship of the celebration event by Island Designs Landscape & Storm Water Solutions, and training facilities and workshop food and beverage provided by The Buccaneer Beach & Golf Resort.
